Shuswap Lake Culture Crawl 2017
May 19/17 - May 21/17
Spend the May Long Weekend visiting the Shuswap! Come and experience our three day arts and cultural crawl May 19th to the 21st! Music lovers will enjoy the Friday to Sunday Community Hall Crawl – three live music concerts for just $10 entry: Sons of Bitumen, Chicken Like Birds and Margit Sky Project will headline.
Canadian Federation Artist Justin Maas will have his work on exhibit at the Arts Council for the South Shuswap and the Blind Pay Painters will have a show and sale at the Blind Bay Hall/Reedman Gallery.
The grand opening of the South Shuswap Artisan Collective featuring pottery, glasswork, fibre arts, 2D artwork, 3D sculpture and more will showcase the artists and artisans of the region. Take home a piece of art from the Shuswap during your travels!
Aboriginal cultural tours will take place all weekend at the Shuswap’s resort gem, Quaaout Lodge. One can indulge in golf at the neighbouring Talking Rock Golf Course or at Shuswap Lake Estates Golf Course or the weekend tournament going on at Cedar Heights Golf Course.
History buffs and enthusiasts will enjoy the historical walking tour of the Notch Hill Cemetery and the Holy Cross Church Restoration.
Other crawl activities include a Music Swap & BBQ at Sunnybrae Community Hall (prior to Sons of Bitumen concert Saturday) and a Chili & Bannock supper at Carlin Hall (prior to Margit Sky concert Sunday). Chicken Like Birds kicks of the concert series at Sunnybrae Hall on the Friday night.
Our local wineries and organic ale brewery will also be open giving tours and samples. There is SO much to do May Long in the Shuswap! For all crawl information, visit shuswaparts.com
