What's Happening on Route 97

Route 97 has something happening in every season. During the summer the days are sunny, the lakes are warm, and you’ll find an abundance of fresh fruit and veggies in season. It’s a great time to get outside, embrace a little adventure, and be curious. We celebrate summer on our mountains, down in the valleys, by the water, and everywhere in between. Join us as we celebrate good food, delicious wine, and the great outdoors. Celebrate summer throughout Route 97.

Year Round Fun

Choose from a wide variety of festivals that celebrate music, fruit, wine or art. There are Pow Wows, rodeos, and agricultural events. There are also long weekend celebrations on both sides of the border. Plan ahead so you fit as much as possible into your road trip. Must-attend events in British Columbia include the IPE (Interior Provincial exhibition) in Armstrong, the Kamloopa Pow Wow in Kamloops. There are also seasonal wine festivals throughout the area. Other fun events include Feast of Fields in the Okanagan and the Stan Thompson Memorial Rodeo in Princeton. We celebrate music too! Funtastic in Vernon has a music festival and the Elvis Festival in Penticton will get you all shook up. 2017 is also the 25th Annual Salmon Arm, Roots and Blues Festival. In Washington State, plan to attend the Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival, the Omak Stampede and Indian Encampment and Pow Wow. Maifest and Kinderfest in Leavenworth are always enjoyable as is the Pateros Apple Pie Jamboree. The Wenatchee area has several events including the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival and the North Central Washington District Fair. There’s also the Chelan County Fair, Wenatchee Wine and Food Festival and Fiestas Mexicanas. Visit the Bavarian town of Leavenworth for year round events.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s happening around Route 97 right now.
