Add some flavour to your Route 97 adventure and take part in our culinary offerings and celebrations. Take a cooking course from a world class chef or wine and dine your way through the Interior Cascades. We have events where the best of the best compete, and you get to taste their entries! Then there’s the wine. Winter throughout Route 97 has plenty of wine festivals and food celebrations, wine and food pairings and there’s a celebration of wine and chocolate. Come and warm up with some culinary treats or take in an event this winter.

Culinary Classics at Mission Hill Winery

From January to March, 2017 Mission Hill’s Dynamics of Food & Wine series teaches you how to cook like an experienced chef. Choose from Italian, Mediterranean, French, Thai, Mexican, Greek, South American, Chinese, or Indian. They also offer  seafood, gluten free and carnivore cooking classes.

Gold Medal Plates – Canadian Culinary Championships

On February 3rd and 4th Canada’s top chefs gather in Kelowna, BC to compete for the title of Canadian Culinary Champion. This event is an ultimate celebration of Canadian excellence in cuisine, wine, the arts and athletic achievement.

Devour Kelowna

Held annually on the first Saturday in March, Devour Kelowna is the culinary party of the year. Kelowna’s Okanagan College Centre for Learning is transformed into a fabulous club complete with music and lighting. It features the Okanagan’s best chefs, mixologists, winemakers and purveyors of specialty food and drink. And it supports local chefs!

Wine and Dine Thompson Okanagan

This annual event runs from late January to early February. There are over 40 restaurants from Kamloops to Osoyoos that take part in offering a 3-course menu for $15, $25, $35 and $45.

Seated Wine & Food Paired Tastings

Happening now every Saturday and Sunday afternoon to March 26, 2017. Have a seat in the wine cellar of CedarCreek in Kelowna for an educational tasting of six portfolio wines. Each wine is paired perfectly with cheese and charcuterie. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Red Wine and Chocolate

During February spend one or two weekends enjoying chocolate paired with delicious Cascade Valley wine. Red Wine and Chocolate in Lake Chelan the second and third weekends in February. Wineries in Leavenworth, Wenatchee and Lake Chelan wineries present big reds with chocolate delights. Limo rides, library wines, chocolate, and more wine. Delicious chocolates paired with local wines make a winter weekend memorable.

Vintners & Brewers Tasting in Okanogan County

This tasty event is held the first weekend in December in Grand Coulee, WA. Two separate evenings, Saturday and Sunday, offer hors d’oeuvres and dinner, wine & beer tasting, silent & live auctions. There are fun surprises and prize drawings
