Mountains and Resorts Thompson Okanagan, BC

Apex Mountain is 30 minutes from Penticton and is a full destination resort. Great downhill skiing, four Terrain Parks, a World Cup mogul course, an Aerial Site and world class training venue for Slalom and GS racing. Nickelplate Nordic Centre has the longest season in Canada on 56 km (35 mi) of beautifully groomed trails for classic and skate skiing.

Baldy Mountain is just outside of Oliver in the South Okanagan in BC. A great family hill with two chairlifts, a T-bar, and a magic carpet. There’s also freshly manicured cross-country snowshoe trails. 

Big White Resort, near Kelowna, BC, offers up some incredible winter experiences. Tons of activities to enjoy including a Horse Drawn Sleigh Dining Tour where you can enjoy brunch or dinner in a cozy cabin in the woods. Clearwater Ski Hill is a cozy family resort located near Clearwater, BC. Spend the day on multi-level runs or take in a game of disc golf. Afterwards, relax in their spacious lodge.

Harper Mountain Ski and Snowboard Hill is an all ages downhill and cross country venue located a short 20 minutes from Kamloops. Kids will love their lift-operated Snow Town Tube Park.

Manning Park lies in the Cascade Mountain Range between Princeton and Vancouver. Ski, snowshoe, skate, tube and go cross-country skiing surrounded by wilderness. There are lots of events here including the Torchlight Parade and Meet Santa.

Phoenix Mountain, northwest of Grand Forks, BC has been called the Best Little Mountain in BC. Come experience this unique community atmosphere for skiing and snowboarding.

SilverStar Mountain Resort is minutes away from Vernon. People come from around the world for cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowboarding. Loads of family fun activities including snowshoeing, tubing, skating and horse-drawn sleigh rides.

Sun Peaks Resort, near Kamloops, BC, has lots of great winter activities including a winter Segway tour and Snowbikes! You can even book a ride on the Cat Trax Groomer. There are over 20 eateries here as well as two spas and a mobile masseuse. Try cross-country skiing at the Sun Peaks Nordic Centre.

Mountains and Resorts North Central Washington

Echo Valley Ski Area is a great place for affordable winter recreation, minutes from Lake Chelan, WA. It features a Poma Lift, four-lane tubing hill, lodge, and an eatery.

The Leavenworth Ski Hill is only a few minutes from the Bavarian village Leavenworth, WA. They have two rope tows, a ski jumping hill, tubing hill and 26 km (16 mi) of Nordic trails. If you’re there in November, take in the Banff Mountain Film Festivals Tour. Warm up with a hot chocolate in the historic Ski Hill Lodge.

Loup Loup Ski Bowl is 300 acres of diverse terrain, between Twisp and Okanogan on Highway 20 in Washington. Dry Okanogan powder, perfectly groomed runs and little to no wait times make this hill popular with locals and visitors.

Mission Ridge is 15 minutes from Wenatchee, WA, and has tons of sun and powder snow. With 300 days of annual sunshine you know this hill has light dry powder. Ski 36 designated runs spread over 2,000 acres of trails, chutes, screamers and bowls, with a 2,250 foot vertical drop. 

Sitzmark Ski Area is a short 20-minute drive north east of Tonasket and 20 minutes east of Oroville on Havillah Road in Washington. Dry powder snow, sunshine, fantastic views, small lift lines, and low ticket prices make this a favourite for locals and visitors.

Stevens Pass is at summit of Stevens Pass, on US Hwy 2 NW of Leavenworth near Skykomish, WA. Located on two national forests, the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie on the west side of the crest and the Wenatchee National Forest on the east. Take the day and ski on three sides of two different mountains.
